I am a 24 year old goal - driven female. I completed my Bachelor of Arts Humanities degree at Stellenbosch University at the end of 2017, and I currently finished off my Post – Graduate certificate in Education (also at Stellenbosch University) with English and Life Orientation being my qualified teaching subjects. I am extremely organised, which allows me to multitask and always be on time. I love being around other people, and I have excellent communication skills. I have a positive outlook on life, while being a hard worker and constantly keeping a smile on my face. I will take on any task, learning quickly if required, and I am computer literate. I have a passion for children, fashion, helping others and the environment.

Experience
2018 (July to September) Protea Heights Academy, Brackenfell. Teaching Practicum. During my teaching practicum at Protea Heights Academy, I taught both English and Life Orientation. I had to create lesson, activities, memorandums and mark assignments that were interesting but related to the curriculum. Key responsibilities: • I planned and prepared lessons that consisted of higher order and lower order questions, media and various activities. • I implemented the curriculum through an approach that made the learners want to engage. • I provided opportunities for students to apply and practice what was learned. • I maintained a safe, orderly environment for learning to take place. • I created a place where learners were able to work collaboratively with others. • I encouraged creative thinking from the learners. • I made sure I always provided feedback to learners. • I always modelled honesty, fairness and ethical behaviour along with a caring attitude that promoted a positive environment. • I always attended faculty meetings in order to immerse myself into the school. • I participated, helped with and supervised extra murals. 2019 The Sozo Foundation At the SOZO foundation, a Non – Government Organisation, I have been assigned the Grade 12 class whereby I am facilitator and tutor. I help with both my qualified teaching subjects, English and Life Orientation. I bring the resources such as textbooks or past papers while also providing my own skills and knowledge. My ultimate aim is to guide the learners, not giving them the answers but rather working with them in order for them to obtain the answer themselves. Key responsibilities: • To ensure that the learners are working productively. • To provide additional skills and resources that the learners do not receive at school. • To assist learners with any problems in their school work. • To motivate learners and encourage them that it is possible to understand the work. • To create a positive energy in the classroom • To be able to adapt, as each learners’ needs are different. • To make sure the classroom is organized as well as have all resources working. 2020 Growing Minds At Growing Minds, I have two positions. Firstly, I am the teaching assistant for Grade 5, 6 and 7. As well as I am the enrichment program facilitator. At Growing minds, the school works with multi – level grades in the classroom. The school offers an inclusive working that has small classes with individualized attention. While during the enrichment program, it consists of homework and reading. Then once that is done, we either focus on move, comprehension, creative art, interactive games or extra reading. Key responsibilities (Teaching assistant): • I provide extra support to learners and guide them through their work. • I reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups. • I help the teacher prepare for lessons by getting materials ready or setting up equipment. • I collaborate with the principle and main teacher to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions. • I guide the children to overcome certain areas of weakness. • I help see that that learners are working productively while the teacher is busy with other learners. • I monitor classroom behavior. • I mark assignments and class work books. Key responsibilities (Enrichment program facilitator): • I provide a safe space where learners feel comfortable do their homework, it is guided and controlled. • I encourage learners to be creative. • I provide support for reading. • I create a program that is fun and offers forward thinking. • I provide higher motivation. • I provide paced learning and know the learners personally to cater for their needs. • I provide special learning techniques and tricks.

  • Special Needs Help

    I am kind, caring and have a lot of patience. . I guided learners through assignments, simply by breaking down the question. I have taught learners how to break up questions in their assignments by simply using a dictionary to look up words they do not know. Therefore, I understand that as a facilitator I will help learners individually which allows for learners to always feel included and not left behind.
