I got a distinction for pure maths at the end of matric. I have completed 3 maths courses at uct and achieved a first class pass for 2 of the 3. I believe in solidifying fundamentals and understanding an overview of the topics needed for study before diving into the practical component of learning- method learning is key.

I have mastered tutoring Mathematics over the years with more understanding of the concepts. No better teacher than experience, over the years I have been refreshing my knowledge from high school and university. One thing that worked on my advantage in my refresher was tutoring primary school maths as basics are everything!

I’ve tutored it since 2008 as a university student and taught the subject for 5 years as a full time educator. I am very passionate about Maths and did a BSc in Chemistry and took main stream Maths for all the degree years.

I have an extensive university knowledge of mathematics as well as a BSc degree in Chemical Biology. I've been tutoring maths for 7 years and this makes me an experienced tutor not only with the work itself but because I've dealt with many students, I'm able to accommodate each student's individual personality and needs. I'm approachable and friendly and students respond well to my encouragement and guidance on how to do well. I ask lots of questions and give many examples to ensure that students have a firm grip on the subjects they struggle with. I and very passionate about teaching and enjoy helping students reach their aha moment.

I did Mathematics in university for 2 years and I received good marks obtaining some distinctions. Therefore, I would be perfectly capable of tutoring high school learners the subject. In my Matric year I achieved 85%

Since January 2017 , I have been working as an online and private mathematics tutor , teaching students mathematics grades 1-12 /IGCSE/ AS and A level and Calculus . In 2014, after I completed my Cambridge IGCSE and A level education and received my exemption certificate , I enrolled at the University of South Africa (UNISA). I am a UNISA BSC Mathematics student and I have obtained A* distinctions for Mathematics , Calculus A and Calculus B modules and examinations. I am excited , passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and mathematics. When I teach I focus completely on the student and client , their needs and provide assessments to find gaps in your understanding of your coursework.I use humor as a means to 'break the ice' and I work at the student's pace.I encourage the student to give their best while I give my best to assist the student and client. I am relaxed when I teach and provide a calm environment for the student to learn in . As a student , I understand the pressures we face while we study and feel a deep sense of achievement when I make a difference with teaching.As a teacher I am patient and I understand the stress that studying puts on us. When I teach , I utilize a whiteboard, books , drawings, notes and other tools to assist the student. I find the best method to ensure the student understands their work.I always discuss the work thoroughly with the student as I believe mathematics should be discussed in detail to ensure the student understands their work. I liaise directly with the student and client,provide feedback on lessons and try to teach mathematics in the most simple and easy to understand way.I understand the difficulties students face at school , especially when teachers rush students through the syllabus. I did very well in pure mathematics in high school and ended up with an A at the end of matric for mathematics. I also have previous experience in tutoring my peers and other learners in mathematics when i was in high school. I also did Calculus and LInear Algebra in my first year of University.

I have 24 years experience in teaching this subject. This subject is very important and the basic principals need to be understood and consoladated. I enjoy using games to teach and consolidate new concepts and rules.
