Hello! My name is Megan Carstens. I am a passionate English and Mathematical Literacy student at CPUT Wellington. I am currently in my final year. I am an avid reader, explorer and coffee enthusiast. I believe teaching should be done in such a way that the learner can feel empowered and even become the teacher. Personality wise, I am very bubbly and always up for a laugh. I am also very patient and energetic. I believe there is something to learn from each and every person. I don’t believe in mistakes, I call them learning opportunities. My hobbies include: Watching Korean dramas, reading, exploring the world around me and painting. Subjects I am qualified to teach: 1. Mathematics – grades 8 & 9. 2. Mathematical Literacy – grades 10-12. 3. English First Additional Language – grades 8-12. 4. English Home Language – grades 8-12. My teaching style is much like my personality – unique and creative. ‘I do. We do. You do.’ is a mantra I often use when teaching. I have experience in various teaching environments, from a correctional facility (as part of a Community Engagement Project) to a small coastal school. I believe the only way to truly learn in life is to live it. The mistakes we make today can contribute to our success tomorrow.

I am a graduate from the University of Cape Town. I completed my undergraduate with a bachelor of arts, majoring in English literature & language; and Law. I have been a private tutor for the last five years and have much experience working with students ranging from primary school to university levels. I have experience working with both the IEB and CAPS syllabuses. I have taught English, Drama, History, Art History, Photography and Essay Writing.

I am an Economics and statistics graduate with a passion for all the technical subjects. I seek my rewards of tuition from seeing a learner find their full potential with my help. I'm experienced in tutoring all the subjects that I offer. I have never had an unhappy learner or parent. Not only do I impart subject knowledge upon my learners but also study skills and good studying habits that will help them throughout their lives.

I am a fourth-year Medical student at Wits. Teaching is a passion of mine - there is no better feeling than seeing someone you helped succeed! I achieved a distinction for Science at Matric level and Physics 1 at University level, and achieved a distinction for both maths and AP maths in matric, so I am very well versed in these two subjects. Being a student, I understand how they learn and need to be taught, so I pride myself on my ability to ‘get through’ to students in a way that a school teacher may not.

Second year Bcom marketing management student at Stellenbosch University. Come from a family of teachers and educators. Have always been passionate about helping others and sharing my knowledge. Have the patience to repeat things until someone can understand it. I'm a peoples person and consider myself a good communicator. I like to make studying and learning interesting and fun and always try to use creative methods to understand and learn new things. I am not afraid to work hard and put in extra effort to make something work.

I have obtained my Bachelor of Accounting Science in Financial Accounting. I am currently working on obtaining my Post Graduate diploma in Financial Accounting. I learnt to work in a team as well developed leadership skills through my degree. I developed good communication skills through my time as a tutor (four years). I can work well under pressure and I show determination in tasks I take up. I am looking to further develop and learn new skills in the accounting field. I will always try my best to be available, to assist my students when they require help. I prefer doing face to face lessons and expect students to work with me in order to assist them in their academic work. I give a lot of constructive criticism and feedback to the student and parents to help the student improve and develop. I try my best to make accounting enjoyable and also believe in constructing a good and positive relationship with all my students.

I'm an RF engineer working in the Satcom sector for the aerospace industry. We design and built the worlds leading solutions in this field with our systems making it onto the worlds largest commercial airlines all around the world! I completed my masters degree at Stellenbosch university about 4 years ago and have never stopped attending and completing courses in whichever fields cought my interest. It is this habit which has made me realise that I may have something to offer to others to help them along on their future journey. I live in Somerset West in the Western Cape, I am 28 years old, and just about 5 months ago, my wife and I had our first baby, Livia Bonarius! I generally like anything that I'm good at, including enjoying a good wine, electronic engineering and the occasional dabbling in music.

My name is Miché September and I am currently completing the dissertation component of my master’s degree in the Section of Organisational Psychology, in the School of Management Studies, at the University of Cape Town. I previously studied at Rhodes University, where I completed both my BA honours and an undergraduate degree in Organisational Psychology. As a postgraduate student, I believe in the power of diverse thinking. Given our current state of events, I am best suited to work in a fast-paced/digital environment utilising a variety of my skills including quantitative/qualitative research analyses, innovation and I deliver spectacular presentations while creatively engaging with students. Independent in taking action, I am able to detect, observe and solve challenges when required. “The devil is in the detail”, meticulous and thorough, I foresee a high-quality outcome for all prospective assignments.
