I have taught class music for many years to ages 2 years up to high school. I have also taught adults who wished to gain the enjoyment as well as therapeutic benefits of music. In these groups I have often had to teach children with learning disabilities alongside those without. Because of this experience I can assist parents who have learners that struggle with music and music assignments. I can also train teachers or aspiring teachers and assist them with planning out lessons for music and movement and how to use music as an integrated therapeutic tool. I can also assist and show them how to incorporate other subjects such as maths, social science and language into their music and classroom lessons to better assist learners with learning these subjects. Sessions can be done online as well as at my studio.

I absolutely LOVE music. I grew up with it. I play the piano (Grade 8), Violin (Grade 6) and Guitar. I also took part in my school orchestra and choir. I reached theory grade 5 and took music as a subject in high school.

I have specialized in this area and have taught across the various grades including workshops for teachers. I was also a co-music presenter at a World Conference held at the ICC in Durban. I have published two class music manuals with user friendly lessons and teacher guides. I have a solid understanding of what happens in the classroom and in the teaching profession in general. I have implemented a spiral curriculum for class music from Grade 0 - 7 and I understand the various levels at which to teach students.

I am a well-experienced and qualified teacher on this subject. I will ensure that every tutor session is a student-focused one, paying close attention to everything he/she needs help with. I have all the knowledge needed the ensure that all work is well covered.

I received an A for Music in every year of my school career. I possess Grade 5 in UNISA and ABRSM theory, and a Grade 8 in ABRSM piano, with a final score of 91%. My passion for music is one of my greatest in life. Music is so deeply interconnected to the way people think and feel, and that connection is something I would be immensely invested in teaching.

I am a BMus qualified music educator with more than five years experience in teaching children, teens and adults. I am specialized in vocals, but also teach piano, guitar, recorder and keyboard.
