My name is Nanette and I am a vocal teacher. I studied and obtained my Btech Music Degree at Thwane University of Technology. I enjoy teaching and seeing how each student make progress ad a singer and musician.

I am currently studying BMus at the University of Pretoria. I have taken several courses that will prove useful in this position. These courses include first aid peer counselling and tutoring. I work well with children of all ages, am very reliable and organized, and am flexible and can problem solve under pressure. I am also a keen and willing learner. I am a lively and responsible young female au pair/ tutor with a good record of accomplishment providing quality childcare services and school tutoring for families in the Pretoria area. I am a 26 year-old female currently residing on Pretoria. I am a lover of nature and the outdoors, birds and wildlife. I am a qualified graphic designer, having obtained my BA Information Design degree at the University of Pretoria in 2012. I have 4 years industry experience. My interest in graphic design started with my love for visual art & literacy, a field of study I still find fascinating. I am also a keen musician, having played piano up to Grade 8 level and tenor saxophone to Grade 5 level. I am fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans and have an excellent written and spoken command of both languages.

I am intelligent, friendly and easy to talk to. My students find me approachable and they feel free to ask any question related to the subject. I am a strict teacher, but I never resort to yelling or insulting a child. If necessary, I will use a stern voice. I understand that each student is different, therefore I use various methods of problem solving. It is my belief that no one is unteachable and if a pupil struggles with a certain concept it is the teacher's duty to find a different approach that works. It is important to me that the lessons should be fun and educational. I value constructive criticism; I highlight mistakes and provide the student with the necessary tools to fix it and I complement pupils on their improvements. My teaching environment is constructive and encouraging.
