Dumisani Ephraim Khumalo holds four (4) formal qualifications: a Bachelors Degree in Social Science with majors in isiZulu and Media and Cultural Studies obtained from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal(2009), an Honours in Arts with isiZulu and Teaching isiZulu as an Additional Language as majors obtained from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (2010), Post graduate certificate in Education obtained from the University of South Africa in 2015 as well as the Masters in African Languages and Linguistics from Wits University obtained in 2019. Ten years of language and cultural research and working in the Linguistics Department tutoring isiZulu to the non-Mother tongue speakers, has gained him an exposure and interest in both teaching the language and getting involved in the language planning within different structures in the university and also under the department of Justice and Constitutional development. He started teaching isiZulu as an Additional language in 2009 at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal equipping the Engineering and Health Science students with the basic communication skills and language conventions of isiZulu.

I understand this subject very well, even if you can wake me up at night and ask me anything, I will be able to give you an answer without hesitating. I even obtained an A in High School. I use to help my classmates at high school and they all confessed to understand me better. I ended up not helping my classmates only, I ended up opening after school classes for Grade 9 to Grade 12 to help them. This landed not only on my school but to those who were doing abet as well.

Isizulu is my mother tongue, home language and my favorite language. I have excellent communication skills (Zulu) both written and verbally. It would be my absolute pleasure to teach this language And it will be a way for me to give back to the community.

I'm a pure Zulu by birth, fluent and a good background on the language with certificate of the being the best learner in matric, motivates me to confidently say I am the best tutor and teacher of IsiZulu, Azibuye Emasisweni, imbila yaswela umsila ngokulayezela.

I understand the language difficulties and Zulu is mother tongue and some learners are still struggling to pass their mother tongue.Practice language everyday help learners ; creating own study time abd read zulu newspapers and if there is any word that you dont understand try to find a meaning by help of others.

The subject is my specialisation in my first and second degree, also my specialisation in my Third degree which is Masters of Education, also in my previous jobs which is invigilating and marking of the scripts and tutoring I was specialising in IsiZulu. My current job is marking students scripts, invigilating and tutoring isiZulu Module in the university of KwaZulu-Natal Edgewood Campus.

I am a born and bred young Zulu woman and have learnt IsiZulu from primary to high school. I not only excel in communicating in the language but also helping people to learn it, for academic purposes or for merely knowing the language.

Zulu is my mother language and am willing to assist those students where the subject is compulsory at their schools and the language is not their mother-tongue. I will work to ensure best results and to ensure that the student is able to communicate the language even outside school.

I am a native speaker of isiZulu and a qualified teacher with 6 years experience teaching the subject. I have tutoring experience as well of about 3 years. I love teaching as a profession, teaching my own language is a bonus.

I never did IsiZulu in high school, I dropped it in grade 9 but I have 5 years of experience tutoring it. It is easier for me to tutor it since I am a Zulu native speaker. I had a lot of training over the years in IsiZulu home language subject which is more challenging than the 1st additional one. Kids I have tutored improved not only academically but in written and verbal skills.
