Hi there, My name is Alexander Caldwell (Alex is much easier to remember though). I attended Pretoria Boys High School where I matriculated in 2017 and I am currently in my 2nd year of Bcom Accounting Sciences at TUKS. I am a person that truly enjoys helping others to better themselves academically and so would love to help you through whatever issues you may have to the best of my ability!

I completed Matric last year with an A average and aim to study International Business overseas, to make a positive difference in the economy one day. My hobbies include Dancing and Public Speaking, as I enjoy interacting and meeting new people with new experiences. I was a prefect in High School which has enabled me to acquire leadership skills and be a good mentor to others, in a committed and fun way. Due to the fact that I have experienced 12 years of school myself, and graduated not so long ago, I understand that the work of each grade increases in difficulty, and excelling and improving in academics from early stages is crucial for you to do well right up until Matric. This is possibly one of the most important years of your life, and I am here to help you make it one of the most successful and best. I will aid in many factors from study skills to learning techniques, all to ensure that you reach your full potential, in each year of your school career.

I am a candidate engineer, hence I have the abilit to analyse problems and can generate multiple ways in which I can explain a single problem for better understanding. I am a native french speaker, born and raised in France and I worked 15 years in the french speaking part of Switzerland. I am then able to make comparisons and differences between the french used in the 2 countries (and even more with Canada, Belgium and African countries). I wrote and published a sci-fi book in France in 2009. My specialization is the travel industry though, in which i've been working for 20 years in Europe and in Southern Africa. I always had a thing for languages, and learned Russian and Farsi a while ago. More recently i've learned spanish and i am currently learning Portuguese.

Hi! I have been teaching in the far East for the last few years. Teaching ages from Grade 1 through to university level. I just came back to South Africa to continue my path as an Engineer. But, I realised I love teaching too much to let it go. My students received a 70% plus average in their science. And with my math classes my students received a average mark of 65% plus. I go the extra length to ensure that you understand. I am very patient. I do believe that anyone can do science or mathematics, they just haven't had the best teacher. Education is very important to me. Being the first in my family to complete grade 12 and further obtain 2 university qualifications (Bachelor of business administration and 3 year diploma:Marketing), i fully understand the importance and power of education. I am a clear communicator and very patient. My greatest strength is my ability to relate to different kinds of people. I believe THERE IS NO FAILURE IN STILL TRYING, so i work continuously hard to achieve what is expected of me and beyond.

I am a qualified teacher, with a Ph.D. in education. My teaching and tutoring experience ranges from Afrikaans home and additional language, life orientation and remedial reading and writing. Coming from illiterate family background, my passion for sharing knowledge and tutoring skills to enhance self and further development in students from different age groups. Through tutoring, I continue to positively contribute to lifelong learning, skill set development and transfer of knowledge.

I have a Bachelor of Business Science degree, Masters in Business Science (Economics) degree, and a PGCE (SP & FET) all from UCT. The PGCE is a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, specialising in teaching Mathematics and Economics to high school learners. In other words, I am a qualified teacher too, and so I am trained to identify particular areas of Mathematics that learners are struggling with and how best to help them succeed. Prior to becoming a high school teacher, I worked as an Economist doing research for the public and private sector. I have many years teaching experience, having taught Economics to undergraduate and postgraduate students at UCT for roughly 6 years, and more recently, teaching Mathematics and Economics to Grade 7 to 12 learners. I have been employed as a Maths teacher at both government and private schools, as well as most recently at an online school, teaching Maths to Grade 8 – Grade 12s. I have been doing private tutoring of Maths, Economics and running SAT Preparation classes for the last 5 years. I therefore am experienced in tutoring learners online -mostly using Zoom, but also Skype and Google Hangouts. My teaching philosophy focuses primarily on building confidence in my learners. I am a patient, calm and caring educator, who takes a genuine interest in all her learners academic progress. I try to make my lessons fun and interactive, and I encourage you to ask as many questions as you need to in order to fully grasp a concept. In my opinion, if a learner hasn’t understood a concept properly, it is usually the teacher’s fault for not explaining that concept in a way the learner can understand and relate to. I also don’t like to focus on the rote learning of Maths (or Economics) “rules”. In my opinion, if you understand WHY and HOW things are done the way they are, it enables you to link Maths concepts, and the “rules” will become second-nature to you. I enjoy scuba-diving, fishing (catch and release) and gardening.

I'm a chilled young guy who would rather have pizza over burger, preferably both though. I am in final year at the University of Cape Town pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree. I am from Vosloorus and used to attend a high school in Dawnpark, where I learnt to fall in love with studying, even though it wasn't always my favorite thing. My favorite subjects to tutor are physics and Maths. I found out about this last off last year when I began tutoring them, and I believe I can have a positive impact on any student I take on.
