I lived in Taiwan as an exchange student and as a result, have a high proficiency in the language. I have completed language courses at both the Taipei University of Education as well as the WITS Language School. While working as a teacher in China, I used Chinese in the classroom often to help students learn English. I was a Chinese teacher at Radford High in 2019

I have studied and mastered this language, having also lived in Southcentral China for 6 years, I'm fluent in it as well. I have interacted and taught Chinese students English where I face students asking grammar questions in Mandarin in which I have to answer in a manner they will understand. thus breaking the communication barrier between teacher and student. I have also written the Chinese proficiency exam for foreigners and passed with impressive results. I have also written the medical Chinese proficiency exam and have a level 2 certificate.

I am a Masters Student at a Chinese University, learning in Mandarin Chinese. I have studied Mandarin academically up to Honours level and received my Honours degree Cum Laude from Stellenbosch University

In 2018 I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Primary Education and composed a dissertation entitled "The Influence of Music on Primary School Chinese Teaching". In 2019 I taught a credit-bearing Advanced Mandarin course full-time at University of Johannesburg. My Master’s degree major is Teaching Methodology. I have a passion for teaching.
