My biggest passion has always been mathematics and you will see for the last 7 years I have worked in that industry. As a new mother I have put my career on hold and would like to have a more flexible part time job. I have always enjoyed tutoring and teaching others and want to develop this passion further. My name is Dalveen Davies, a South African citizen. I am a Buyer, by profession. My skills include, but are not limited to, negotiating interacting with people of different ages and backgrounds, as well as building and nurturing relationships. In South Africa, in 2016, I decided to try and gain experience in teaching, so I offered an after school tutoring service to children of my family and friends. I soon realized, that teaching is something I feel very passionate about, and teaching the English language is particularly enjoyable for me. The second step was to obtain a TEFL certification through the accredited SEE TEFL in Chiang Mai Thailand. I accomplished this in February 2018. Since returning from Thailand in 2018, I have been a volunteer reading tutor. I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that my interest in teaching at your institution extends beyond my desire to simply move onto my next adventure. I grew up with teachers in my family and consider them to be a huge part of my early education. I’ve travelled extensively, both in Africa and other continents, and I take pleasure in learning about different cultures. I am a part of a small group of other teachers, who share ideas and lesson materials, so I am sure that I could integrate easily with both your local and foreign staff. My hobbies include going to the gym, swimming, running, cycling and reading.

I believe that the learning experience of mathematics should not only be limited within the confines of the classroom, it should be essential that students are able to solve problems outside the classroom.I still believe that practice makes perfect, time and again I constantly encourage my students to do a lot of exercises and problem solving at home, and most of all I do motivate them to have make the learning experience fun through working out problems with friends or fellow classmates. As a Maths Tutor, I understand that my main aim is to ensure that my students are able to grasp basic and advanced mathematical concepts. During 12 years of teaching statistics & mathematics at many levels, from Calculus courses to teaching Business Calculations, Calculations & Statistics and Quantitative techniques and Finance, as a Lecturer, a Teaching Assistant and as Tutor, I have been constantly learning and gaining experience as to what makes an effective and a polished practitioner of the craft, also I have been focusing on improving my own skills. I bring this experience, together with a commitment to continue learning and adjusting, to my future career as a lecturer of Statistics. The most important lesson for me has been the realization that the teaching of stats must be interactive and involve the student.

I am currently in my third year of Aeronautical Engineering. I have a great love for both Mathematics and Science and believe that I can allow other students to feel the same, whether you're aiming for a distinction or just a pass.

I am passionate about the English language and specifically literature. I've been a teacher for 20 years and school principal for 5 years. Grade 9 to 12 students have improved their grades significantly through my skills and passion.

I am a language teacher who loves fun and exciting classes. The classes are fun because I use props such as puppets, music and games to engage students. Believe me, even adults love playing games in class because it doesn't feel like work when music and all sorts of other fun items are presented. When I teach online, even my dog and cat play with us in class sometimes. Everybody can learn through laughter and play. I can hardly wait to meet you and have you as a student! Hi, I’m a first year student currently studying Accounting at the Independent Institute, Ruimsig campus ( IIE MSA). I’m determined, never give and always ready to help.
