I have more than three years experience teaching English as a Second Language in Asia. I taught students of different levels ranging from absolute beginner to advanced and ages from 3/4 years old to adults. I also have experience in checking and correcting written work as well as writing and overseeing listening and comprehension tests.

I have patience to teach a child who is struggling with sounds, reading, writing ect. I always give a second chance. I believe that quality is better than quantity. I enjoy teaching children, its makes me happy to see how well they progressed.

I ended my matric year with a final mark of 85% for English Home Language and i am an avid reader as well passionate about creative writing, thus i can try help learners find the joy and creativity in a subject as overlooked as the English language.

I am of the opinion that the correct usage of the English language in all respects improves results in all other learning areas and increases your chances to secure better positions in future. However convenient your social media platforms may be, they are sadly also the reason for the deterioration of your ability to express yourself adequately in a world language. Ultimately, our convenient electronic devices will destroy literacy if not addressed timeously.

I am fully bilingual and have a good command of both English and Afrikaans. My classes are presented in a fun, extremely entertaining and engaging way through games, music and props. Grammar, vocabulary, spelling and writing is absorbed much more easily through this way of teaching .Many of my students look very forward to their classes with me every week. I have a great sense of humour which makes the learning environment a good, healthy place to be because students feel relaxed. A stressed student will not take things in or remember what is taught so it is imperative that my students feel calm.

I have completed my LTCL teaching diploma in English language and drama as well as currently doing my degree in linguistics and journalism which gives me an in depth knowledge into the English Language.

I believe that reading is one of the important skills in elementary education. All subjects requires reading as a skill to comprehend.Reading is fun and rewarding too. Reading is a basic skill that we are exposed to in our daily lives. I teach reading to learners so that they can read aloud, in a group and encourage silent reading too. Using total physical response also helps because children learn to read by observing, hearing and using body language too. I use different reading materials like pictures, picture words, flash cards, story books, Puppets, magazines, signs etc to enhance reading I also encourage learners to choose their own reading material of their own interest. I use reading material that a relevant, in context, age appropriate and user-friendly. Reading strategies and techniques that are suitable for learners can help them improve their writing skills too. Reading is a skill that all children can be able to learn.

I have taught English both within South Africa and abroad. I am qualified Tefl and Tesol teacher and I have more than 5 years experience in teaching this subject. I Enjoy teaching teaching as we focus on Spoken work, literary work and writing in English therefore covering all basics and structures of this beautiful language

My goal with tutoring is to assist and teach learners academic skills that will serve them well in school. I will partner with the learners to teach them to become independent participants in their own learning. During our time togther, skills like oraganization, task initiation, focus and time management, will be taught in order for the learners to have successfull learning experience.

I have taught Grade 2 for 6 years and am confident in my teaching ability. I have worked with a range of ability levels and am able to adjust teaching strategies according to the learners level. I can assist with reading, phonics and writing skills.
