I am a first year MBBCh student studying at Wits who graduated high school second in my grade and with 8 distinctions. I love Mathematics and Science and have always enjoyed explaining and teaching. I have a lot of patience and aspire to teach the small tips and tricks that helped me do well in High School.

I enjoy reading, watching movies, tv series, listening to music, and the outdoors.I enjoy learning about new cultures, i have travelled internationally and found that i have a love for teaching.

Good day, my name is Lara Broderick and I look forward to potentially meeting you. I Matriculated in 2016 with 7 distinctions and moved on to my goal of being accepted into medicine. In 2019 I graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science in human genetics and physiology from the University of the Witwatersrand. Following this, I was accepted into the graduate entry program for medicine at Wits, and am currently completing my third year. I have been tutoring part-time since 2017, and have completed 400 hours to - date. I enjoy working with individuals of all grade levels and interests. I am deeply passionate about working with students and helping them achieve their goals, whether that be to achieve a distinction or understand that one section of work that has always eluded them. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience tutoring SAT English, primary and high school English across multiple curricula (including IEB, GDE and Cambridge) and Life Sciences. I personalize each lesson according to what the student needs, and complete a series of small assessments within lessons to further direct the lessons. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing how I can help.

I am passionate about helping people learn new things. I tutored maths for several years both individually and in groups and enjoy working with others. I was a software developer until recently when I decided to return to tutoring. I enjoy reading, learning about history, drumming singing, programming, and horse riding. I am always keen to learn new things about the world. I believe that with the right approach to teaching, anyone can be taught anything they want to learn. My experience tutoring maths has taught me that often people assume that maths is hard because they're having a hard time following what they're being taught in class. I've found that their confidence in their ability to solve maths problems and grasp the fundamentals of maths increases as they learn and master new concepts. In high school, I myself struggled with maths and thought that I would never master it . With the help of dedicated and capable tutors, I was able to overcome these challenges and get better in a short time. I hope that I can help my students the way that my tutors helped me when I was struggling.
