I am a qualified Afrikaans teacher and tutor with 10 years experience in both the IEB and NSC curriculum. I have helped many students reach their full potential in Afrikaans FAL and have helped them gain the confidence required to excel in the subject. I am especially passionate about helping learners understand the prescribed literature and how to go about analyzing and answering it during a test or exam. I also have proven methods of teaching language rules that make it possible to answer any language question.

I received outstanding results for Afrikaans in Highschool. My approach to teaching Afrikaans is to start with the basics, the sentence structure, tenses etc, and build up vocabulary as knowledge of the basics develops, using creative interactive methods, such as assigning Afrikaans programs to watch, to immerse the students in the language, as well as many many colourful posters, notes and worksheets.

I have had 12 years of experience of Afrikaans from school. I feel that I am able to teach children how to communicate and do well in the subject. I want children to learn that Afrikaans is exciting and enjoy their experience of Afrikaans at school

I grew up in an Afrikaans town and even though English is my home language. I did attend an Afrikaans school where I did most of my subjects until Matric in Afrikaans. I also am able to socialise fluently in Afrikaans. I did extremely well for Afrikaans as a subject in Matric and received 94%. I also received a School and District award for Afrikaans. I have a good understanding of Afrikaans literary devices, poetic devices, grammar and sentence construction, as well as a broad vocabulary.

I am an experienced university level teacher and lecturer. I am fully bi-lingual with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans. I am an enthusiastic and respectful teacher who will patiently guide learners of all ages and levels of expertise towards their chosen learning goals.

I’ve started speaking Afrikaans when I was 8 years old in primary school. I have a great understanding of the language, especially when tutoring First Additional Language. I can also tutor it as a Second Additional Language. I have always been between an A and a B student in my class as I went to an Afrikaans school when I was in primary

I am Fully Bilingual and find Afrikaans to be such an Amazing and Fun language once you grasp it . It is my Home language and i excelled in it at school tremendously . It is easy to learn the concepts and basics and no student should have to have sleepless nights over an Afrikaans Exam or test !
