Simryn A - Tutor in Rondebosch
I am currently a second year undergraduate Actuarial Science student at the University of Cape Town. I thoroughly enjoy learning and teaching Maths, I excelled in Advanced Programme Mathematics and Core Mathematics in high-school and would love to share my strategies towards achieving a high grade for maths with other current school students. Although there are other subjects I have a keen interest in and can assist with such as English, Biology and History. Throughout my high-school experience, I had passionate tutors and teachers who made me love their subjects and who built my confidence which allowed me to excel. I would love to be able to do the same for current students needing a tutor. I aim not only to tutor you academically but also to encourage you through your academic journey, which is so much more than just learning simply because you have to. I aim for my students to want to keep learning and growing their knowledge.

I tutored fellow high-school students in Maths and Physics for two years as part of a community outreach initiative which my school facilitated. I thoroughly enjoyed tutoring and would love to have the opportunity to tutor again. I would like students to become excited about what they are learning and I hope I can help them to become passionate about learning.

I took Advanced Programme Maths in high-school and through this, I was able to learn a lot more advanced trigonometry than through Core Mathematics. I also achieved an A grade in AP Maths. I am furthering my trigonometry knowledge as Maths is a core part of my current degree. I would love to help anyone struggling or wanting to develop themselves in trigonometry.

Mathematics is one of my favorite subjects and algebra is a fundamental part of mathematics. Throughout my maths journey, I have been able to master algebra in order to move on to more complex sections of maths. I would love to help students master algebra so that they can develop a deeper understanding of maths.

Vocabulary
A good vocabulary is imperative to the English language. It will improve your writing, make reading easier and bring cohesion to your academic journey through English. I enjoy writing and through reading many books have been able to grow my vocabulary substantially. I would love to help students with their vocabulary so that they can succeed further with the English language.

Writing
English writing has always been a space for me to explore my creativity. Often students get so caught up in the technical process of writing that they lose the enjoyment that comes from writing. I want to help students perfect the technical process so that they are able to enjoy writing. I achieved an A grade at the end of my matric year for English and would love to help.
