I believe strongly in living a life that is inspired. By which I mean finding inspiration in your own gifts, skills and abilities and using those to inspire and assist others. I believe so strongly in receiving the best education one can receive, and as we are often hindered by what we do not understand, I feel that tutors have a great responsibility in bridging that gap. I am hardworking, dedicated and very passionate about education, predominantly English, however I am also fluent in Afrikaans and Spanish. I believe that languages are of utmost importance in the education system because they help us understand other cultures and broaden our perspective of thought. I love children and understand that they are at a critical age of learning. Essentially, I hope to in someway inspire the world to be better and more educated. I am 44 years of age, divorced father of 5 (4 adopted, 1 own child). I did business studies, up to MBA (University of Pretoria). My English and Mathematics skills are at highest levels since i come from a 23 year employment career, 13 years of which was in management; in 8 of those years, I was in Senior management roles, where i wouldn't be if my English and Mathematics skills were low. While employed at Kraft Foods in Isando during the period 2010 - 2013, I used to assist with the Abet program there on an informal basis. I even commissioned English literacy training for 8 members of my team. I also used to assist those team members with their on the job assignments; they all completed the program and they are using those skill to this day. In 2015, I was certified as a Supply Chain Professional by an American institute called APICS (www.apics.org). This means that on top of my business acumen (from the MBA plus my working experience), I am also a Supply Chain master. This, I believe is a value add to any organisation that would like to utilize my skills. I am a preacher at church, therefore I spend a lot of my Sundays in front of people, engaging them in topics of interest to them. I enjoy standing in front of people, presenting ideas to them, be it formal or informal. I enjoy interacting with groups of people for a common goal; best of all I enjoy fielding questions that challenge my levels of understanding on a certain topic.

I am a qualified Language Practitioner, and I have my own Freelance company. I also have also a Post Graduate Diploma (I studied in the U.K.) in Tourism and Hospitality Management. I have been working as a Language Practitioner since 2000 till currently. I am very good with children and I am passionate about education. I have years of experience (year and abroad) working with Primary School children as a tutor/Au Pair.

I love working with children, i love music and playing piano. I am engaged and I help my stepdaughter as much as i can. I realise kids learn at different speeds, and being creative and using braincharts helps with that. I believe that all children can be taught. It is just a matter of relating to the material. I am currently a third year Social Work Student at the University of the Witwatersrand. My motivation to embark on my social work came from my interest in psychology and stemmed from my time during school where I joined the outreach team. I have always felt passionate about helping people in any way that I could and through my time with the outreach team I was exposed to many children much younger then myself as well as the same age and the horrific and the horrific and appalling conditions they were forced to grow up in. Having been exposed to the in comprehensive amounts of physical and emotional abuse these children have suffered, their neglect and abandonment and trauma have made me feel passionate about wanting to make a difference. It also peeked my interesting into the field of child social work. I strive to make a difference in the lives of young children as I believe every child deserves a chance at a life full of joy, love and protection. Through my social work journey I aim to acquire the skills and knowledge that enables me to one day, help save a vulnerable child’s life by placing him or her in a healthy environment where they are cared and protected for, as well as intertwining my ever growing interest and passion for psychology in my work by helping heal the scars of these vulnerable children’s pasts. I believe that I am a fun, kind and selfless individual with a deep passion for helping people and animals.
