My name is Jason, I am 25 years old. I completed my Bachelor's, and more recently my Honor's Degree in Computer Science at UNISA. I also have industry experience working for a year in Sandton as a Software Developer. My research project for my Honours Degree involved investigating how the EV3 LEGO Mindstorms Robotics set could be used as a medium to enrich the teaching of programming to students at undergraduate level so I am very familiar with the difficulties and psychological roadblocks students face when learning to use programming languages. I often assist my younger brother who is taking Information Technology as a subject in high school as he learns to write code and he recently achieved 90+% for the end of the term.

Hi. My name is Lauren. I am 35 years old. I was born in South Africa and I live in Benoni, Gauteng. I have two degrees in occupational therapy, the second of which is a Master's degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. I have been working with children and teenagers between the ages of four and 18 years for the past 12 years, with most of the children aged between five and 13 years. I recently completed a qualification to teach English as a Foreign Language, and the principles are very relevant to teaching English as a Second or Third Language. I can assist children and teenagers to improve their listening skills, comprehension, reading, writing, grammar, sentence construction and spelling in English. I strive to be patient and meet the learners at their level, and assist them to succeed and progress within the lesson. Not all children learn the same way, nor do they learn at the same pace. I can work with children and teenagers who have difficulties in learning and concentration. I am only offering online lessons via Skype or Zoom.

I am experienced of all abilities. I I am a very calm and patient person and a very good listener. I work with students of all ages, from elementary school to high school. Whether the subject is science, math or basic study skills, I break material down into easy-to-understand concepts. I am comfortable explaining calculus to a high school student or working with a kindergartener on spelling fundamentals. I know how important it is to make the student feel relaxed, which in turn helps them become ready to learn.

I just graduated from the university of Pretoria, my degree being a BSc in Human physiology and Pharmacology with distinction. I am currently in my third year of Medicine at the university of the Wits I have taught music for 5 years both online and and in person. I enjoy teaching and helping people grasp new concepts.
