Hello! My name is Danielle. I recently completed my Education degree at the University of Pretoria. I have about a year and a bit of experience working inside the classroom and online. When I teach, I like to make the lessons fun and interactive because I believe that’s the best way to learn! I try and go beyond what is expected of a teacher. I like to adapt my skills to suit your learning style because I know we all don’t learn the same way.

I taught English to children and adults based in China. Material was given to me. I made sure I had extra props so learners understood what was being conveyed.
I taught grade 1 learners in Term 4. I taught English, Mathematics, Afrikaans and Life Skills everyday. I had to complete morning duties as well as break duties once a week.
I taught grade 3 learners in Term 2 and Term 3. I taught English, Mathematics, Afrikaans and Life Skills everyday. I was apart of supervising the soccer teams and netball teams for extra murals.
Studied an 120 hour TEFL certificate, learning all there was to know about teaching English to Foreigners.
I was taught a variety of subjects, the main ones being Science and Technology, handwriting, reading, learning support (this is for learners that are behind academically according to the age of the learner) and Mathematics. I also completed 20 weeks of practical teaching where I worked with a variety of learners on different levels.
I believe I’m the best tutor for this position because I’ve studied how to teach reading. I know how to correct mistakes and what will allow you to remember the word/s in the future when you see it somewhere else. I get involved in reading by having different voices, by acting out the scenes, by having puppets tell the story and I can adapt those skills to what you as my learner might want from me.

I believe I’m the best tutor for this position because I’ve studied how to teach you grammar. I know some of the tried and tested methods that usually work for all learners and which ones don’t work. I try make it fun and interactive so that you will be able to grasp the concept that you need to know.

Foundation Phase (grades R-3). I believe I’m the best tutor for this position because I’ve studied for 4 years with practical teaching on how to teach these ages. I have learnt from other teachers and seen for myself what works and doesn’t work. I like to make my lessons fun and exciting where you sometimes don’t even realise that you’re learning.

I believe I’m the best tutor for this position because I’ve done a TEFL course as well as gotten experience teaching English online. I’ve learnt that it’s best have a variety of lessons based on the same concept rather than one big lesson because I know it’s daunting trying to learn a completely different language and one topic gets thrown to you and you’re expected to understand all of it in one go.
