Hi :) I'm a recent BSc Mathematics graduate, passionate about learning (almost anything) and teaching others. We live in a very interesting world, and how privileged are they who get the opportunity to learn more about it! In my free time I like to play guitar, jog, and read about Space Science. For the rest, I'm a research student and spend my time learning how to use satellite images to predict the crop yields of farms.

Weekly or once off tutoring sessions with university and school students. Subjects I tutored were first year Mathematics, Probability Theory, Physics and second year Mathematical Statistics. Also school mathematics and science subjects.
I helped out at first year Mathematics and second year Engineering Mathematics tutorials at university. We received material early in the week to prepare. Then at tutorials we helped to answer student questions related to the material, and oversaw tutorial tests.
In Honours we took courses in a broad number of mathematics related fields. We studied Fluid Mechanics, Algebraic Biology, Data Science and Machine learning, Epidemiology and Information theory (amongst others). We also did a Biomathematics related research project. Mine was on modeling the population dynamics of African Elephants!
A short course on correct practice when tutoring science subjects to students. What is the role of the tutor? The tutor is not another teacher, but helps guide the student through directed questions and explanations that 'fill the gaps' in the student's understanding. The tutor is a learning facilitator.
Biomathematics is about using mathematical modelling and statistics to describe biological phenomena. We learnt to model how diseases spread in populations (epidemiology), how enzymes work in chemical reactions and how populations of people or animals grow and change over time (Population Dynamics) amongst other things.
I had Mathematical Statistics as one of my main subjects at university ...and found out it is rather mean! BUT, it is very interesting once you get the hang of it. So lets clear up all those standard errors ;)

I really liked mathematics at school, and even went on to study it at university. There I tutored maths to school students and was a teaching assistant in mathematics tutorials at our university. And hopefully, I'll tutor you too :)

I did further maths (we called it admaths) at school and got a distinction. And I also went on (crazy) to study Mathematical Science at university. Unfortunately most of what you do in further maths probably only gets covered at PhD level, so I never got around to seeing it again. (just kidding)

I am keen on most topics in the Sciences, and will try my best to explain the different topics with clarity and entheusiasm! So far I have tutored science subjects (e.g. life Science, school maths, university statistics, calculus and linear algebra) to high school and fellow university students.

I did calculus at university (1st and 2nd year) and tutored it to other students too. As you read, my calculus textbook (Stewart 7th ed) is standing by in my bookcase, waiting for further instructions!

Afrikaans is my huistaal, en ek sal jou graag help daarmee! Jy kan uitsien na 'n gemaklike en interessante tutoriaal, waar ons die werk sommer vinnig onder die knie sal kry! I'm sure we will have fun and make quick progress, no matter you're level of Afrikaans so far.

I'm passionate about natural sciences, and just recently graduated from my degree in science (BSc Honours Mathematics). I've been tutoring science and maths subjects for a few years, and really enjoy it!
