It is a teacher's job to find that uniqueness in a student and teach in a way that will be most stimulating to the individual. Abit about me: I'm an artistic and social being, spending most of my free time playing an instrument , singing and socialising with friends. I love meeting new people that I can get to understand especially if they are from different backgrounds, countries and cultures. I love horse riding and spending time in the outdoors, jogging, hiking or taking long walks. The beach is my favourite place to be on a sunny day , swimming in the waves and tanning on the hot sand.

Avanya Manickum is currently in her final year of Geological Sciences at UKZN. She only has one module running at a time which allows her to focus on tutoring and keep herself updated with the school syllabus. She has done voluntary tutoring work for maths during high school. As an individual, she is motivated and always looking for new opportunities. As a tutor, she is patient and understanding. She enjoys explaining concepts to students in creative ways to ensure that they understand. She is able to break down concepts to fundamental levels for the student. She believes that by making sure the student understands and can answer questions on their own, they gain self-confidence and can achieve greater results. The subjects that she tutors are subjects that she enjoys and hopes to make it more enjoyable for the student. She enjoys puzzles, reading, writing, being outdoors and takes an interest in numerous topics. She values the environment and takes part in beach clean ups when she can. She also has a little sister who she plays with and mentors.

I am a MScEng student in Chemical Engineering at UKZN. I have a BEng Honours degree in Chemical Engineering from NUST, Zimbabwe where I graduated as the best graduating female student and best Chemical engineering design in the department. I have 5 years experience in tutoring mathematics and science subjects for grades 4-12. I believe in my abilities to impart my understanding of science subjects. My approach to science issues allows students to develop a love for the subject and great improvement in their marks.

my experience has been in teaching for many subjects for several years. My strengths involves being a disciplined, prepared, friendly tutor and savvy with new technology, and the ability of getting along with students and thus a good motivator.
