Mathematics tutors in Port Elizabeth

In grade 12 I obtained a distinction for mathematics, also throughout my school career I was always the top mathematics student. It has always been a passion of mine. Throughout my school career, I helped other students with mathematics. I am also continuously tutoring students in this subject.

I have a BA degree in English and psychology as well as, a PGCE in foundation phase teaching. I enjoy teaching younger learners and teach Grade 2s on a daily basis. I also have 5 years of teaching experience.

Not only do I have a passion for teaching mathematics, but I have also studied for 4 years in this field and have been trained how to teach mathematics to primary school learners. I have also learnt through practical experiences in primary schools over the past 2 years on how to effectively teach mathematics to learners in a way that they easily understand.

I achieved distinctions for Maths throughout my entire school career. I am well equipped to help with Grade 1-10 Maths. I help students understand the content and assist them in the application of the various methods and theories. I am well equipped to help with homework, test preparation and exam preparation.

I am a qualified teacher and completed my Bachelors of Education with Mathematics and Sciences as my majors. I was also a private mathematics tutor in my students years, where I assisted many learners in reaching their goals and developing a love for mathematics. I enjoy teaching mathematics and believe it offers much more than mere curriculum knowledge. It helps learners build confidence, problems solving skills and ,if mastered, a great sense of accomplishment.

I believe that my experience gained from private tutoring coupled with my technical and academic background makes myself a good candidate for this subject. I do believe what sets me apart from the rest is my temperament and ability to connect with student on different levels of understanding. A student should always feel comfortable and energised when learning, this is not a chore, but a great academic journey!

As a science major, I have come to appreciate the potency and Mathematics as a subject, which makes me an enthusiastic teacher of the same. I have also taken up Mathematics as a subject up to tertiary levels, in my studies and am well versed with the Mathematics curriculum.
