Afrikaans tutors in Muizenberg

The last five years I have had significant success teaching children Afrikaans by doing a nice story, translating it into English, answering questions on the story in Afrikaans, even rewriting it in your own words, then doing grammar exercises based on the story. This works very well with second and third language speakers who have an attitude towards the subject. I always try and use stories related to topics the children may be interested in and then build the language and exercises from that.

Afrikaans is nie my huistaal nie maar was een van my hoogste punte in matriek. Ek het n groot deel van my skool loopbaan na n afrikaanse skool toe gegaan. Ek het ook vir twee jaar n graad 6 seun met afrikaans gehelp en sy ma kan n baie goeie resensie van my gee.

I found Afrikaans to be quite a challenge when I was in primary school until I had a wonderful teacher who made it fun and made it easy to learn! She encouraged me to embrace the language and I have never looked back! I am therefor passionate about passing on this passion for the language

Afrikaans is my first language. I have taught Afrikaans at TLC language centre in Cape Town. As a native speaker I am confident in my abilities to help students get a firm grasp on the language. I can assist with speaking, listening, reading, writing and vocabulary.

I love Afrikaans literature. I matriculated with a final mark of 96% for Afrikaans First Additional language. Furthermore I am also a native Afrikaans speaker which gives me an added advantage in being able to explain grammatical and literature related aspects.
