I am a mother tongue English speaker. I have been teaching English - in all its aspects for the last 15 years. I have worked in different countries. I have prepared students for different examinations, including Young flyers through to IELTS and TOEFL. I love language and the teaching of it is first prize. Seeing a student able to discuss and laugh in another language is wonderful. wherever possible I try to make classes fun and different, I force the student to think and make them realize that it is not just the language it is the art of communication,.

I usually go to the gym first thing, where I take part in an aqua aerobics class. Other days I will go to a Pilates class. If I am not teaching I like to read, do a bit of gardening (my garden is very small). Then of course I am preparing lessons for different students at different levels. I make sure that these will be interesting and contain both grammar and vocabulary suitable for the student. Especially if this includes business English, or specific examination preparation, such as TOEFL, IELTS and general Cambridge exams. I watch a lot of sport on TV (tennis and rugby being big favourites. then it is usually the end of my day.
I am an English language teacher who loves to watch students grow in confidence and learn to communicate in another language.
Woe is us that we do not read so much anymore! when a picture is put before you there is no need to imagine. When you pick up a book your mind is requested to work and there lies the thrill of literature.

I am happy with all aspects of English. However grammar is an important base from which to work and understand why certain things happen in any language. I love to see students work this out and come to a solution that is both correct and they understand why it is that solution.
