Experience
I am currently in my third year of Interior Design at Vega Cape Town. I received immediate admission without entry tests or portfolio evidence due to my matric marks and out of school work experience. In High school I had the opportunity to do 7 day internships and 4 different Design Companies in Cape town. I have made sure to maintain a good relationship with my lecturers and received an effort amount of help in regards to understanding the work and the questions and methods on how to break a brief down and successfully conclude a final project. I was successful enough to receive financial aid and a bursary from the institute as I am one of the top in my year. I graduated High School a year early due to be pushed ahead from grade 8 to grade 10, resulting to me taking a gap year in 2018, where I worked as administrative assistant and, set and event designer.

Subjects taught
  • Writing

I consider myself a story teller. As someone who studied History and Art History, writing essays have not been a struggle for me. I wasn't one who struggled to reach the minimum word count, but rather struggled staying under the maximum word count! In Art history, students were required to write a minimum of 3 pages per question, so not only has essay writing, story telling and, question observation been a born love of mine, I have learnt the methods, tips and tricks in writing.

  • Literature

I was educated two different curriculums, from grade 8-10 I did Cambridge English Literature and Language, and from grades 11-12 I did NSC English literature and Language. I identified that there was quite a difference between the two, in regards to work load and brain power. I feel like this has opened me up to different techniques, methods and learning structure in understanding what I have read, identifying the underlying meaning, and how to put that into writing. I had close relations with my teachers, resulting to hands on help and attention, allowing me to understand and think more complex.

  • History of Art

I studied Visual Art and Art history in grades 11-12. Although visual art is not my fine suite, I still have the knowledge and ability to help learners where necessary. I am great with Art History and can guide learners into breaking down the questions, identifying the meaning and, constructing the perfect answer. As stated above, I love essay writing and story telling, its easy to get creative. I can help learners not only visualize through their perspective, but through the artists.
