I am a passionate English Literature Bachelor of Honours (B(Hons)) student at Stellenbosch University. I am doing my research in postmodern Holocaust literature and I am interested in a range of topics from American Renaissance literature to postcolonial and critical theory. Next year, in 2021, I intend doing my Master's degree, continuing at Stellenbosch University and eventually I wish to work as a lecturer and researcher in the field. English Literature is an exciting field of work and can be incredibly rewarding when understood well. I graduated with distinction in my undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology (with an aggregate of 83%) and my final mark for English Literature in third year was 85%. In addition, I was awarded the English subject prize and the top student in my undergraduate degree overall.

I worked with a grade eight student who is originally Portuguese speaking and within the first term her results improved from 50s to distinctions. We worked on both linguistics and literature. It was a very rewarding and fulfilling experience.

I am currently completing my Honours degree, thus far I have maintained my very high standard of academic results and my dissertation is focused on postmodern historiographic metafiction, however my interests are very diverse and I am well versed in a range of literature topics, such as critical theory, postcolonial theory, American Renaissance literature, Victorian and neo-Victorian literature as well as feminist literature.
