I hold a Master's degree in physical sciences, this my field. Additionally, I tutor undergrad in the Physics department at the University of the Western Cape. It has given me an experience of more than three years. This interaction with students helps to understand the difference between individuals and their backgrounds.

There is usually an imbalance in learning the theory and applying it in calculations. Often students may favour chemistry over physics or vice versa. I focus on showing how the theory and formulae are intertwined, always reinforcing the two throughout my lessons. "A picture is worth a thousand words". I enjoy drawing diagrams, using animations or creating quirky rhymes/acronyms - helpful tools for improved study methods. Consistent practice is crucial! I fortify clear examples which my learners can recollect from memory, to rely on and apply during assessments.
