I tutor Mathematics, Physics and AP Mathematics at a high school level. I am currently an undergraduate Mathematics and Statistics student at the University of Cape Town. I have a strong work ethic which lead to my achieving 7 As and a 90 percent aggregate in Matric. I was also placed on the Dean's list last year. I have a passion for Mathematics and Physics and want to foster an interest in these subjects among other students. My aim is to provide students with a strong conceptual understanding of the subjects and to equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in both the IEB and NSC examinations. I have gained tutoring experience by being a member of the Academic Support Task Team at Westville Boys' High. I have since tutored both privately and for Mad About Maths and have a strong understanding of the various curricula.

Tutor at Mad About Maths
I was a tutor at Mad About Maths where I tutored Mathematics, Physical Science and AP Mathematics. I would tutor students either in groups of three or individually. Tutoring in groups was not something I was used to and I had to learn how to effectively manage different students of different abilities in one lesson. My teaching methods revolved around conceptual understanding of the subject matter.
Private Tutor
I have tutored privately where I have employed a variety of methods to help my students perform at their best. My lessons would focus on conceptual understanding of concepts instead of wrote learning. I love Mathematics and I would try and incorporate this love for the subject into my lessons. At the end of the lesson I would prescribe homework to the student in order for the student to sufficiently practice the concepts covered.

I have a passion for both learning and teaching Mathematics. I believe that with a bit of hard work and the right tutor anyone can learn to both love and master Mathematics. I have three years tutoring experience both privately and for a tutoring company based in Claremont. I have tutored both NSC and IEB and I have a strong understanding of both curricula. My tutoring focuses on helping the learners understand concepts as opposed to wrote learning. This allows students to be more prepared when an exam throws them a curve ball. I am majoring in Mathematics at UCT and achieved a first for Mathematics in my first year as well as an A + for Mathematics in my NSC examinations.
