Hi there! I am a young and passionate tutor, with professional experience and qualifications as an English teacher to foreign students wanting to learn the language. I spent some time studying in Florence, Italy, where alongside my studies, I taught English to Italian students. Throughout my time spent teaching there, I gained such wonderful insight into the joy of sharing my knowledge with others, watching others grow and learn, and best of all, helping others. I'm very hard working and fully dedicated to everything I do. The fact that I lived abroad for 2 years in a foreign country, balancing university work with teaching is great testament to that, and more so, testament to my unique skills as a tutor. I'm kind and easy to talk to, and I'd love to help you out with whatever it is you're struggling with. At the moment I am completing my degree at University of Cape Town, BA in Film and Media Studies. I am available part-time. Besides from my compulsory matric subjects, I did Maths Core, Music, Art and Biology, and matriculated with 6 distinctions, after which I pursued a career certification at Florence University of The Arts, achieving above 85% for all my courses. I have now come to Cape Town to finish my degree! I also have a 120-hour TEFL Certification, and have taught English online to students in Asia and the Middle East.

This included management of studio shoots, darkroom film development, colour and chemical processing, equipment cataloging and general supervision.
I write music reviews for two online publishers, and have learnt to command the English language in a professional way, on standard with other published writers. I am also required to assess other writing samples and news sources before I review the music.
I was responsible for job recruitment, post scheduling and general maintenance of a social media page for the company I taught for, IQBar.
As a tutor of English to Italian students, I gained new perspective on the subject, through the eyes of a foreigner. I gained a unique teaching style because of this, whereby I break the subject down to it's core and give my student the blocks to build it back up in their own, specialised way. I also learnt how to make the language seem less intimidating than it really is, and turn it into an accessible and inviting subject that excites learners.
As an English teacher I was responsible for lesson planning, continuous progress assessment, examination and one-on-one tutoring. I was expected to give engaging and creative lessons that suited the student's individual learning styles. Adapting to different learning capabilities was of huge importance and taught me to be a more dynamic and flexible teacher.
I matriculated with 6 distinctions, 95% average for Visual Art, I was the school's Top Achiever in both Visual Art and Music, I received recognition for my practical aptitude in Piano Performance, and I received recognition for my Creative Writing skills as an English student.
I studied digital media at Florence University of The Arts, as well as gained professional experience in the art industry through my studies. I had public exhibitions, I interned as a photographic studio and dark room lab assistant, and I got to hone in on my practical craft.
I am currently completing my BA in Film and Media Studies. I aspire to be a filmmaker one day, to be a master of my craft, and above all else, to learn and grow, both intellectually and emotionally, during my time at UCT.
I have a knack for languages and enjoy tutoring Afrikaans. I admit that I am not a home speaker of the language, but I am extremely knowledgeable of how it is taught, learned and examined on a school level.

I am an avid musician and I have achieved my Grade 7 ABRSM Practical and Theoretical Certification in Music Theory and Piano. I still play regularly, and once again, my passion for the subject will certainly shine through in my teaching.

I am TEFL-Certified in English instruction, and have spent the last two years teaching English on and off, both online and privately. I matriculated with a distinction in English, I am studying it at university, and am hugely passionate about the language, and this will certainly reflect in the enthusiasm and professionalism with which I tutor.

I achieved 95% average in Matric for Art Theory and History, and it is a huge aspect of what I currently study. I love everything about art, and have also gained an enriched and global perspective of the subject by studying and living in Florence, Italy, the home of Renaissance and Classical Art. This will surely set me apart from other tutors in the field, and I am confident in knowledge of the subject.
