I have been teaching children between the ages of 3-13 in Hong Kong for the last 2 years. Within this teaching job my duties included: teaching three levels of phonics classes (beginner, intermediate and advanced) as well as grammar and writing classes (level A) and reading and speaking classes (level A). I completed many phonics assessments, Cambridge assessments and grammar & writing/reading & speaking assessments that decided at what level a child should be placed at. I have mapped out and implemented phonics and reading schemes which have helped my students from a non-reading age up to advanced phonetic sounds. I had complete control over the planning and execution of my student's curriculum and created unique and tailor-made materials to suit their needs. I strived to keep their classes engaging, and learner focussed, implementing games, cooking and practical English courses as well as outings where we could explore the language in an engaging way. I engaged students in a variety of debates and discussions where they had to express their opinion on a range of topics both in written form and verbally. I helped students prepare for their Trinity Speaking exam as well as poetry competitions organised by the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association (HKSMSA)

I studied a range of different psychology subjects while attending SACAP including Working with Children, Fundamentals of a Helping Relationship, Counselling Skills and Process Development, Addiction Counselling, Ethics in Counselling, Crisis and Trauma Counselling, Family Work and Relationships, Self-Esteem and Motivation and Work Integrated Learning (counselling). At the end of this two year qualification I was able to counsel people of all ages under the supervision of a company.
BSocSci Psychology and Sociology - Rhodes University
I studied a range of different subjects during my time at university including Anthropology, Philosophy, English, Classical studies and Music Health and the Brain. During my three years at Rhodes University, I majored in Psychology and Sociology.
