Alexia S - Tutor in Birnam

Hi there! My name is Alexia and I am a 22 year old student currently studying my Honours in Organisational Psychology. During high school I often struggled with finding the right techniques to learn effectively. But throughout my years studying, I have managed to master a few methods to ensure that what I learn, I won't forget - and I want to help you do the same! Everybody is different and my goal as a tutor is to make sure that you don't just rote learn what you need to know but rather, help you to understand the work and its importance in your academic career. I look forward to meeting you and helping you develop a passion for the things that you struggle with so that learning becomes a challenge, rather than an obstacle!

Subjects taught
  • History

This was my favourite subject in high school and something which I quickly learnt tricks for to help me remember dates, names and all the nitty-gritty information in between. Knowing history is something of importance if we want to understand the present (and the possible future). Having obtained a distinction for it in high school, I am eager to pass my skills on and ensure that you excel as well!

  • Italian

I have completed first and second year Italian at university level. I achieved distinctions throughout and I continue to practice the language as frequently as possible. My ability to tutor the language would be at a more basic level as I am not fluent. However, being surrounded by family members who speak the language fluently means that the language is something which comes quite easily to me. I also have a deep understanding of the culture, the food and all the amazing things that come with learning the language!

  • Psychology

Psychology is a subject that I have always been extremely interested in. I found it challenging at first but once I began to immerse myself in the theories and began applying these theories to things in my own life - I excelled! I am extremely passionate about this subject and what it has to offer and so I have made it the entire focus of my Honours degree.
