I discovered my passion for teaching two years ago. After becoming a parent, I knew that working with children was going to be my destiny. Then, when I took a teaching job two years ago and realized this is where I was meant to be. I spent the last year teaching the most wonderful class of children who taught me what it means to be a teacher. I have a long road ahead of me, but I am looking forward to the journey. I spent some time during the year working along side some Occupational Therapists to help some of the children I was teaching and I learnt so much from them. I love watching children learn new things and come to understand the world a little more each day.

My duties were to execute the lessons provided by the school for children aged 2 years to 5 years.
I spent 1 year working as a full time preschool Teacher. My day to day responsibilities included teaching and fulfilling the needs of the curriculum, working with Occupational Therapists to improve children who needed extra input. Lesson planning and lesson implementation, report writing and assessment. Also conflict management, working with my colleagues regarding the needs of our students as well as playground management.
I am currently studying towards my Bachelors in Foundation Phase Education. I am loving the course and find it fun and inspiring.
I am currently studying towards my degree in Foundation Phase Education. I have 18 consecutive months teaching experience. I love children and have two young children of my own who are taught on a daily basis by me over and above their usual schooling. I love teaching through gentle methods such as stories and exploratory play, discussion and worksheets. There is no reason why children cannot learn while playing in the garden, or baking in the kitchen.
