I'm probably the weirdest teacher you will ever have. I love learning and that is important to me, so I want my students to get to a point where they can start to love learning too. I don't do things the same way most teachers do and I try to keep my lessons focused on things you enjoy because when you have fun, you learn. You aren't going to like everything you learn in school and that's ok, you don't have to but you shouldn't have to hate it either. If you are willing to make mistakes and learn from them, work hard and sometimes work smart ;) I think you will enjoy the way I teach. I will only ever ask you to do YOUR best and that is good enough for me. In turn, I will give you MY best every time we meet, so that you can reach your full potential. I have tutored English, Afrikaans and Mathematics (Gr R - 9 and Math Lit. Gr10 - 11) very successfully since 2018 to children and adults alike. I enjoy the challenge of working with such a wide range of students as it teaches me more skills and helps me see what the common difficulties are.

I have the unique experience of completing my schooling career in Afrikaans up until grade 9. Although I changed to English medium, I kept Afrikaans as a first language up until grade 11. Unfortunately, my timetable did not allow for Afrikaans first language and English first language in Matric, But even in high school, I was the go-to person for help on speeches, essays, translations and all things Afrikaans. I love languages and love helping others communicate better.

Having taught Gr 7 -Gr 11 students, I have seen the importance of understanding the basic concepts taught in Primary school from the start. I am focused on concept grasp and retention and believe that once a concept is grasped correctly, it will be relatable to actual every day situations with ease. A learner that understands their work, enjoys their work and does well in their work. Consistently striving to learn new techniques and methodologies and best practices allows me to know and use the best techniques available.
