Hi there! My name is Hans and I am a chemistry graduate with my honours in polymer science. I have taught before, both during school and my studies at Stellenbosch University. I have been told that I am a friendly and helpful tutor who is able to explain concepts in multiple fun and interesting ways. I'm a sorta weird, fun-loving jokester with an undying passion for the sciences and engineering and would love to be able to share my passion with another via my teaching. I'm more than happy to answer any related and/or un-related questions about science and I am always available by cell if you need help. P.S. I'm also pretty tech-savvy so if you need help with like Microsoft office I can do that too.

Oversaw the development and safety of young, undergraduate chemistry students during marked practical demonstrations. Developed successful ways of communicating information to and from the students, while maintaining a friendly helpful demeanor in the lab. Utilized my knowledge of the chemical sciences to answer questions the developing chemists asked; as to lead them to success in their experiments and give them a deeper understanding of chemistry and laboratory etiquette.
I began my studies a bit rough, but I began to succeed once I realized university requires a lot of hard work and you have to be able to "work hard play hard" and maintain a balance to get through it. But at the end of the day, it was an enjoyable experience full of fond memories with friends and peers.
I graduated top of my class in my honours year. This year involved a lot of practical lab work and a very large amount of studying. I finished my honours project and successfully synthesized a polymer, which to the best of my knowledge, had never been made before.
I matriculated from a private school called Elkanah House high school in 2014. The school is located in Cape Town, where I spent my youth. Pretty much the regular high school experience.
PLEASE NOTE, I have google docs, sheets and slides, and none of the Microsoft office packages. These programs are very similar to their MS office counterparts and I'm confident anything you learn is applicable in office. I've been on a computer since I was 5 years old, gaming, learning, and using programs. I can learn and teach anything you need to know. I can also teach word and PowerPoint if you need those. I received distinctions for my Microsoft office courses during university and also have my Microsoft certification in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint which I earned during High School.

I am a wizard when it comes to all things chemistry, my interests lie in many fields of this subject. I've been explaining concepts to my peers and friends for years and they seem to all get it: so I figure I'm not too bad at teaching.
