My name is Tania Duba and I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. studies in Environmental and Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town . I am very passionate about the natural environment and how people interact with and within it. As a result, I have played various roles in the National Research Foundation science engagement programs activity such as the National Science Festival, Street Science, Schools science camp, and development of oceans theme workbook. I have been actively involved as tutor and a mentor for over 3 years for the UCT 100-up program. My favorite learning areas are geography, maths, physics, and the newly introduced Marine science. I am very comfortable with Isixhosa and life science.

I am very passionate about geography. I have studied geography from high school until the tertiary level. My Ph.D. research specializes in environmental and geographical issues. As a result, I have high-quality knowledge of the subject and my approach to teaching it involves active participation, thinking skills, evaluation, dialog, demonstrations, and information and communication technology skills.

IsiXhosa is my home language and I think it is a beautiful language. I make sure to develop a love for the spoken language and help my students to rapidly gain the confidence to interact with other Isixhosa speakers. This foundation becomes really essential for the more tricky learning and grammar (like the noun groups) at a later stage.
