I am a registered clinical psychologist who obtained a doctorate in Child Psychology at the University of the Free State in 2017. I am 41, married and have one daughter (age 6). I lived in Knysna for almost 10 years and are currently in Bloemfontein. I have experience in teaching life skills to students and presented various topics in the psychology field to adults, adolescents and children. I also have experience in supervising psychology students. My teaching style is aimed on creating a comfortable atmosphere for learning. I believe that when you are supported and encouraged even the most difficult learning material can become a positive challenge!

Head of Therapeutic Programme: Substance Rehabilitation Facility
The inpatient facility entailed assessing and treating adults with substance abuse/dependency challenges. The facility provided treatment periods from 6 weeks to 5 months. The therapeutic programme entailed daily group sessions and individual sessions.
Clinical Psychologist in Private Practice
During my private practice in Knysna, my day would be filled with sessions (evaluation or therapy) for children, adolescents and adults. I have a passion for workshops so I became involved in presenting workshops/lectures on a wide variety of topics. As a professional, ongoing professional development is very important to maintain quality of care. To this extent I acted as programme co-ordinator for a professional group from 2018-2019. I also acted as a supervisor for a social worker and assisted her in her research study for Master's degree.

Completed 3 year course work in PhD Child Psychology. Research entailed the role of emotional intelligence in the relationship between psychosocial factors and suicide behaviour among South African adolescents. Obtained degree in 2017.
