In August 2017, I embarked on a carefully thought out journey to establish my own Catering Company. It has been a very rewarding and challenging experience that is still teaching me a great amount of life, as well as business lessons. Through On Time Service Providers (Pty) Ltd, I have received a great deal of business acumen and a better understanding on how and why corporations make decisions. As my Company is now approaching a two years of being operational, I believe it is now time for me to let go of the reigns and return to Corporate to pursue my vocational and academic pursuits, leaving it under competent and trustworthy management. It will be great reward to oversee the Company as it thrives, while following my career goals.

I was responsible for the following duties: • Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts • Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments • Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status • Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans • Handle questions or complaints • Investigate and resolve discrepancies • Update account status and database regularly • Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary • Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable • Communicating, on a regular basis, with suppliers with updates on their account, as well as resolving any queries they might have. Getting good grades in an institution of higher learning, does not only grant you opportunity to progress from one level to the next, it also gives you additional opportunities to be noticed by your lecturers and assigned tasks that can sharpen your skills, whilst also assisting you in earning additional income as a student. University of Fort Hare is one of the universities that grant their students that growth opportunity. My duties involved the following: • Teaching and coaching students in class twice a week • Marking the scripts and ensure they are properly allocated next to the students name on the schedules assigned to me by the lecturer, • Mentoring students who were falling behind with their school work. • Preparing and discussing a tutorial theme in class as well as answering any queries they had about work which was covered by their lecturers. Accomplishment: This added to my interpersonal skills, dealing with students battling with limited learning abilities to cope in measuring up with curriculum content.
