Subjects taught
  • Afrikaans

As Afrikaans as my Home Language, I have always had a special love for it. I know that the spelling of certain words, sentence construction and word types can sometimes be extremely daunting, whether Afrikaans is your first language or not. Writing short stories and poems in Afrikaans is also one of my favourite things to do.

  • Vocabulary

As an Edublox Reading and Learning Centre owner and tutor, one of of my main responsibilities was to help learners to improve and expand their vocabularies. I have seen that if a child properly comprehends words that he/she doesn't even hear every day, they will start using new words more often and improve their storytelling and writing skills, as well as creative play or debating skills (in later grades).

  • English

English is by many referred to as the "global language" which means that there are English speakers in most countries around the world. It is therefore so important to be able to properly communicate, write and read in English no matter what line of work you see yourself in one day. All of my years as a tutor I have been helping learners to improve their English language skills as well as presenting an English Second Language Course.

  • English Language and Literature

I have such a passion for the English language and the beautiful literature that, if understood correctly, can teach children so many valuable lessons and inspire creative writing. In high school I used to devour Shakespeare novels and was always fasinated by the depth and richness of storytelling.
