I'm a qualified Medical Scientist who have worked in academia and industry for the past 5 years. Prior to this I have worked as an Educator Assistant at the Cape Town Science Centre where I had the wonderful opportunity of educating and inspiring learners of all ages, daily. I have tutored many students over the years and have taken up courses such as Supplemental Instruction (SI) to assist me in bettering my skill as a tutor. I am passionate human biology, but even more so I am passionate about helping people reach their potential so that they may succeed at the goals they set out for themselves.

Yusrah speaks Afrikaans and English
As a Science Communicator I was responsible for preparing, and presenting hands-on scientific workshops for learners of all ages. I also performed scientific demonstrations for large groups (science shows), and I travelled to various schools around the Western Cape (outreach) to assist with they physics and chemistry practicals.
As a Medical Scientist I was responsible for testing patient samples with suspected cases of respiratory virus illnesses. I also optimized molecular assays for the accurate detection of viruses, and performed medical research to contribute to the literature we needed to compile for publication.
For my Master's study, I further specialized in Respiratory Physiology. The title for my master's thesis is "The effect of maternal nicotine on cellular senescence on the lungs of the of the offspring.
In my Honours year I focussed on advance courses in Medical Biosciences such as Laboratory Techniques, and started specialized in research projects. My study was based on Respiratory Physiology - where I observed the effect that materna; nicotine had on the lungs of the offspring.
I studied Medical Biosciences where my majors were Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Microbiology, Biochemistry and Life Sciences.
I have a Master's Degree in Medical Biosciences... whereby I specialized in molecular biology, microbiology, anatomy and physiology. I have a good understanding of how the human body functions and I am always open to teaching/tutoring those who are willing to learn.
