Hi, I am currently a fourth year Dental student at Wits. I have been tutoring Grades 10 to 12 in Mathematics, Life Science and Physical Sciences for the past three years. I have been an asset to all of my learners and I am sure I can be of assistance to you as well in these fields. I try to impart the passion I have for these sciences to those I teach. They to adopt my attitude as well. I believe the recipe to success in any field is to have a passion for it.

Pure Maths
I have always had a deep seated interest in Mathematics. I get my students to understand the concepts and to use this understanding to create their own steps to solve a problem. Instead of me just listing steps that they should follow as this leads to them to blindly doing Mathematics. In this way the student will be able to solve more complex problems that come their way. I show them how to use the calculator more creatively to assist them in checking their answers and solving problems as well.

Biology
Being part of the medical field I consider Biology my forte. High School Life Sciences focuses a lot on the students understanding of the Scientific method. As a dental student I have experience formulating Hypotheses, using different methods to test them, Collecting and Analyzing Data, all in terms of Biological and Social observations. A large part of Life Sciences deals with the human body. Having studied Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Microbiology makes me an asset to any Life Sciences learner.

Physical Science
Physical Science is my favorite subject to tutor. I scored a 94% in Grade 12 for Physical Sciences. As always, I give my learners an understanding of physical concepts and explain to them how a certain equation is an expression of that concept. The trick to mastering physical sciences is understanding the equations used and being able to manipulate them.
