Hi, I am Idjaz and I am from Mauritius, a small but beautiful island in the Indian Ocean. I managed to grab a major scholarship in my A-levels achieving a distinction in all of my majors which include Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. I was ranked 1st in my school and ranked 143rd among the 10,000 A-level students in 2016. Currently, I am doing my third year in Actuarial Science at UCT. Some of my results include a first class in MAM1000W (83) and in STA1006S (84). I am also currently a statistics tutor at UCT where I teach 1st year students.

I had to teach a level students in the field of mathematics, chemistry and physics. Having 3 subjects, I had to draft a schedule that would work for them and mine as well. We worked a lot of past papers, looking at various ways (most often the easiest way) to answer questions and I helped in engaging the students. I also provided notes to the point which were exactly needed for tests and exams.

I achieved A+ in my a levels, 84 (first class) during my first year and 67 during my second year at university level. I am able to grasp concepts easily and quickly and is able to convey information to the point. I used to ask a lot of silly questions but I learnt that there is never a silly question nor answer. I am friendly and is able to make the student comfortable with numbers by explaining them the logic and reasoning behind.
