I have worked extensively for the past 6 years teaching and tutoring pupils (including remedial and special needs pupils) between the ages of 4 and 21 in a variety subjects, though my passion and area of expertise is English. I have gained valuable work experience and I am interested in contributing the knowledge I have acquired throughout the years to better the knowledge of others.
My English skills have been commended and recognized throughout my academic career. My proudest academic achievements are earning a Gold Certificate in the English Olympiad during my matric year, a distinction in the IEB NSC matric examinations for English and the commendation and subsequent selection of one of my English essays to be featured on a course unit blog at UBCO. I also completed an Oxford Seminars TESOL course on January 13, 2014 with a grade of 84%. My certification afforded me the opportunity to work as an effective tutor and OT facilitator. The most rewarding experience I had through this work was teaching a special needs girl how to read, write and speak.
With experience as an IT Monitor, a Prefect, a Forum Representative, the leader
of a Student Organization in high school (2011) as well as being commended for my deportment, I am equipped with the organizational, technological, communication and listening skills that I believe are essential for a dependable and respectable educator.
I am a patient and motivational person, who enjoys the rewards that come with teaching. I am eager to apply my skills to the best of my abilities in order to establish a happy, organized and productive learning environment.
