I hereby am applying for the position at your company. I am a Matric Graduate and have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Free State in August 2013.
I am completing CTA 2, in the current period (2017), as well as signing of as a trainee accountant.
I have audited the following clients in my three year trainee programme:
• Department of Water and Sanitation.
• Botshelo Water Board.
• Water and Research Commission.
• Magalies Water Board.
• Department of South African Police Service.
• Public Security Industry Regulator.
For the last four years I have been conducting comprehensive training and learning through the University of the Free-State, to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and expertise to be able to be a well-rounded accountant: Experience of the operation of a creditor system is a requirement, good communication skills which allows me to appropriately interact with other employees, as well as being able to articulate and express all necessary objectives, statements and communication, computer skills – adequately training in the comprehensive utilisation of Pastel Accounting, high level of intuitive and cognitive processing abilities, tax evaluation and a comprehensive knowledge of the Income Tax Act, excellent cost management experience with manufacturing entities based on a diverse set of cost management principles, brilliant financial management knowledge: calculation of investment decisions, analysis of equity purchases, capital budgeting and working capital structure knowledge by the analysis of financial information, macro-economic analysis of internal and external markets, based on operational and economic factors, the comprehensive compilation of the full-set of the financial statements in terms of the applicable financial standards and procedures based on the application of GAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting practises) and IFRS(International financial reporting standards) and expertise with the financial cycle ( Debtors, Creditors, Inventory and Salaries and Wages) in terms of the applicable control procedures, as well as the operation of the different cycles.
During my brief working periods I acquired the necessary expertise which would be required to bridge the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure that my on the job expertise was up to scratch with the corporate environment, and my ability to learn skills is reasonable paced and is retained in long-term memory.
I also lectured voluntarily Cost Management Accounting N4&5 and Computerised Financial Systems N4 &5 at Ekurhuleni East College (Brakpan campus) briefly while they were looking for a lecturer. Besides that I am assisting Students with Financial Accounting at UNISA.
