I had contact sessions with students from undergraduate to B. Tech level. I assisted students with test preparations and additional explanations of the learning material. I also used my e-mail and WhatsApp to provide support to students who could not make it for tutorial outside the classroom.
I hold online sessions with students through myUnisa where I prepare and deliver lessons. Through this learning platform, I use various tools such as discussion forums, blogs, upload learning materials and post announcements to engage with students.
I hold contact sessions with level 1 (undergraduate) to level 4 (B. Tech) students. Apart from contact sessions, I engage with students through myTUTor which is an online teaching platform at TUT. I use this platform to post announcements, activities and assignments. I develop study materials and study guides for the modules that I teach. I also set tests, assignments and enter students’ marks on the system.
I obtained my Master's degree in the Department of Applied Languages. My study was aimed at investigating high school learners' attitude and awareness towards pursuing careers in the language field and to encourage them to consider pursuing such careers.
I am currently enrolled for my PhD. I am interested in examining power relation practices in African literature and how authors portray such practices in their literary work.
I have been tutoring English and Communications for the past four years. In 2016 and 2017, I taught 20 students Applied English at TUT who were struggling with the module, but with my assistance, 80% of the students improved their performance and passed the module with flying colours. I also have a great record of online students I have tutored (Foundation English) at Unisa who have performed very well and passed the subject under assistance.
