Hi! I have taught abroad in countries such as S. Korea and Malaysia. I have a TESOL qualification and have taught English online to students in China. I am a CAPS trained teacher and have IEB experience. I have taught all subjects in the Intermediate Phase, and English and Afrikaans in the Senior Phase, and right up to Matric. I am also a Drama teacher, and have directed school plays and nativity shows. I have been a support teacher; also remedial English and Afrikaans to students, especially with homework supervision. Patience and kindness is key to successful learning. Languages open the door to understanding and mastering all other subjects!

Taught at primary schools and high school, teaching all subjects at Grade 6 level, and English ans Afrikaans at high school level, as well as Drama. Taught English in S. The language of Mathematics expresses thoughts that are precise (able to make very fine distinctions); concise (able to say things briefly); and powerful (able to express complex thoughts with relative ease). When we think of it as a new language that we are learning, we start thinking differently about how to use it to find an answer that makes sense.

Afrikaans
Afrikaans is such an emotive language, which students usually find easy to learn once they learn how expressive it truly is. Leerders leer gou om hulleself uit te druk wanner hulle leer hoe uniek hulle hulself kan uitdruk in die taal wanneer hulle gebruik maak van idiomatiese uitdrukkings. Die gebruik van die Tye is ook maklik om te leer wanneer hulle gewoond raak aan vraag en antwoord sessies te gebruik wat hulle leer om dit te inkorporeer.
