Micaela d - Tutor in Durban
I am currently studying my bachelor’s degree in Foundation phase teaching at Embury Institute of Higher education. I am currently completing my 1st year. I will graduate at the end of 2023. At the beginning of this year I started work at Babies and Children’s Paradise Pre-school, in which I was a teacher-in-training for the grade R class. During the lockdown I proceeded to do google classroom lessons for the grade R class. Once schools had opened again, I was given 5 Grade R children to teach on my own. Because of the social distancing regulations, the grade R children had to be split into 2 classes which resulted in me having my own class. As their teacher, it was my duty to do numeracy, phonics, life skills, art, bible lessons as well as P.E. I have received a great amount of experience and knowledge over the last 5 months and would love to expand it further. I believe that I will be suitable for a tutor for your organisation based off of the experience and knowledge that I have gained thus far. I will do this by assisting, observing, and performing to the best of my ability. I am friendly, hard-working and a fast learner. I believe that all these strengths will be an asset in your organisation.

I believe that I am best at teaching this subject because I have been learning English all my life and fluent at it. I did well in English at school and thoroughly enjoyed it. I believe that if I can make people understand and enjoy learning the English language than they can do wonders. English is my favourite subject to teach in my grade R class because I am able to act out and make it fun for the learners. I am able to do phonics with the learners as well as help them to improve on their writing abilities. If one can excel at the English language, they can excel at anything because they will be able to understand the questions more in depth. They will also be able to enjoy the wonders of novels and book. It gives me such joy to know that I've helped someone understand a language or at least made them enjoy it just a little bit more. I also think that the reason i enjoy English so much will be an upside because if you do not enjoy the subject then you wont want to teach the subject and you wont want to make it fun for the other people. Many people struggle with English, so i want to be the reason that they do not struggle and rather succeed.
