I am 21 years old and currently studying to be a teacher. I will be in the 4th and final year of my degree and I will be looking into doing an honours degree in Inclusive education. I am also currently working at a very prestigious primary school in Durban as an Intern teacher where I have gained valuable knowledge and skills. I have seen how the lockdown and all the stressful times during the last few years have impacted children and their studies, it is now more important than ever to support learners as their little minds work hard to breach gaps that COVID and the lack of contact education have created. I am studying in the Intermediate phase and will thus be able to help learners from grades RR -7. Children are my passion and I absolutely cannot wait to get started and help shape young minds and experience the joy when a child has mastered a new skill. I am very bubbly and cheery, very motivated and motivating as well. I am sure any learner will have a fantastic experience working with me as will I while working with them. LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!!

I was first placed in a Grade 3 class. There I assisted the teacher with admin, such as message books, ensuring homework has been done and signed, etcetera. I had also taken learners aside in groups and did reading time with them, assisting them with mathematics and language they may be struggling with. I had also been given the task to teach the two classes Life Skills. I have then moved to the Grade 6 classes. Here, I was given the Life Orientation subject to teach to three out of the five classes. I was also tasked with teaching one art class. This has taught me so much in terms of admin, time management, class management, interpersonal skills, and so much more.
I will always help people when they struggle no matter what it is. My little sister was in Grade RR and we would wake up early and get ready and eat breakfast, then we would log on to her school app and start the day's activities. Whether it be drawing, dancing, singing, writing or whatever else they gave them to do. We worked hard to complete it and I would make sure she enjoyed it otherwise she got distracted. My other siblings will normally tell me they want me to help them at a certain time and then I will make sure I am ready myself by going through the work beforehand and turning my phone off. I will also ask the questions frequently and have them ask me questions when they need to.
I use to babysit with my best friend in Grades 11 and 12. It was so much fun, we use to get ready together and go out and have the best time with the children.
I am currently studying to be a teacher for grades 4-7. I am majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, believe me when I say it is very interesting. I plan to take sign language as my language major in my 4th year. I have always had a passion for children and will always have. My mom used to tell me I have a natural maternal instinct. I believe I was born to do this and would like to go even further into the field and branch off into Psychology.
As I probably mentioned before I am currently studying to become an Intermediate Phase teacher and I am majoring in Mathematics and Natural sciences. This is a subject I know many students are scared of and do not like and I want to change that. I want them to learn that as soon as a person changes their attitude towards something it can turn out to be amazing and who knows maybe they are really great at it and won't need me after all.

I am Afrikaans speaking and have had it as a home language for more than 12 years in school. I have always done my best and achieved the top of the class. My teachers were lovely and I always enjoyed my Afrikaans class. I know this language is a bit challenging to some, even those who speak it at home. I want to help foster a passion for this language and show learners that it is not a subject to be scared of.

Science as a subject is very interesting. I had both Science and Biology as subjects in High School and really found myself excelling in Biology. I was amazed and interested from the very moment I opened my grade 8 textbook, there is just something great about learning how everything works together and functions. I really feel I can help students learn and love this subject.

The one thing I remember the most about school is the excitement I felt when going to English class. My teachers were amazing and have lit the passion in me for English. I really want to share this passion with my students and help them succeed. Not to mention I did quite well.
