Bonine S - Tutor in Kensington

Hi My name is Bonine, I am currently studying to be a teacher through UNISA. I work at a school in Edenvale as an intern, full-time, but I am also part of the sports department. I am fun, friendly, energetic, passionate and very patient. I don't give up and always push others to reach their full potential. I have a very natural way about me and love children. Before I started working at the school, I was a swimming instructor for 5 years, so I have been working with children for a long time. I do prefer to work with children from the ages of 4 years old to 12 years old and enjoy teaching English, Afrikaans and lower grade Maths. I am very supportive and will always support you. Thank you

Experience / Education
After matric, I decided to take a gap year and found a job as a swimming instructor, did my qualifications for that and absolutely loved my job. I did that 3 years and then decided to open my own swim school and had that for 3 years. Unfortunately things didn't really go well, so I applied to be a Learn to Swim instructor at a school and they offered me a job in the sports department as well as an internship. I have been working there for 4 years and have been studying for 3 years. I am studying to be a teacher. I have also done a couple of tutoring jobs in between. I have a lot of experience with children.

Well honestly, to teach reading you need patience and fortunately I have a lot of patience. I also believe that teaching reading also requires you as a person or tutor to allow the child to figure out their own mistakes, not always interrupting them or correcting them and this i have learnt from experience. I am enthusiastic and fun, qualities you need to make reading enjoyable and not just because you have to. Reading is important, but it's also a way to escape reality. There was a saying that was drilled into my head when I was younger and it still drilled in, it goes, 'Read, read, read. The more you read, the more you know, the more you know, the more you grow, so read, read, read.' I am here to help.
