My name is Michael and I am philosopher, writer, filmmaker and artist with a passion for meaningful storytelling. I have a significant interest in using various mediums to craft stories with the potential to deconstruct the liminal borderlines between myth and history. I have written several award winning short stories, screenplays, and plays, written and directed for television; directed and produced a feature film which is soon to be released; and I have directed and produced several short films and documentaries that have gone on to win numerous awards at both local and international film festivals. Academically, I have a BA PPE (Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics), a Honours Degree in Philosophy, and I am currently about to finish my Masters Degree in Philosophy. I also love music, reading, and football!

I write and edit the various radio dramas that are air across the SABC's various radio stations.
Alongside my academic career as a philosopher, my professional work is based in the world of film and theatre. I direct and produce films and I also specialise in the writing of screenplays and theatre plays. I have won numerous local and international awards for my screenplays and plays, and I work on a freelance contractual basis for the SABC drama department, writing and acting in their numerous radio plays. I have a passion for acting and drama that extends across various art forms and I can ensure any student of mine that I will not only make them fall in love with drama, but that I will also equip them with the skills to be involved in the dramatic arts.

Currently I am finishing my Masters Degree in Philosophy, and thus far, my academic career has created a deep hunger for knowledge and learning that has allowed me to approach various aspects of life with a more critical and conscious paradigm - whether it be work, relationship, or general socio-economic concerns. Alongside this passion for knowledge, I have great experience with various forms of teaching that have allowed me to engage with students in way where the sharing of knowledge becomes a reciprocal experience, where the process of learning becomes a safe space where mistakes can be made and lessons can be learnt. For me this is the only to teach and learn - and this is why I am the best tutor for this subject.
