There are two things that set fire to my soul when considering my role as an educator. 1. I have the privilege of arming young people with the most valuable tool one could have when facing seemingly unattainable goals- Knowledge. 2. I have the honor of teaching them how to use it. I am an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys interacting one on one or with small groups of students. I have 13 years of teaching Visual art and art history and am passionate about inspiring our youth to think creatively. My main educational background is in Art, however, I am also able to tutor English at a primary school level as well as Grade 8 and 9.

I am still currently a teacher at a local primary school. My day is very busy and I am totally consumed by creating art! I love teaching and although my day job keeps me on my toes, I have come to realize that I get more satisfaction out of teaching one on one or small groups of learners. I love seeing an abstract thought turn concrete and I think that the sense of pride I get in knowing that I was a part of it is what drives me.
I studied a 3 year art degree where I got the chance to learn about drawing, digital art, print making, painting and ceramics. I chose to master in drawing and printmaking. Part of my degree was Art history as well as English film study. I complete my honors year and then went on to get my teaching diploma so that I can share my love of creating art with children.
I am patient and understanding. I feel like my experience allows me to teach a concept in multiple ways s that the learner can best grasp it. I have experience working with English second language learners.
