Subjects taught
  • History

History is one of my passions since I am currently studying for a BA in development studies. The valuable lessons History teaches us are not only important on an academic level, but the knowledge it gives us to know more about our forefathers, and our country as well as the developing world is of massive importance.

  • Geography

I teach Georgraphy with the same passion I teach History. I believe these two subjects go hand in hand, since they deal with humanities and social sciences. I teach valuable lessons about our world, the sustainability of it and how to care for it. Therefore, subjects such as global warming, climate change, world maps and eco systems are very valuable.

  • Afrikaans

I absolutely love Afrikaans. I not only received an award for the best Afrikaans student of my Matric class of 2009, but also received a distinction as part of my final year mark. I am fluent in Afrikaans, reading, writing, and speaking. Afrikaans is a subject which often proves challenging, but my aim is to build the learner's confidence and mento them so that they have the skills to approach the subject dilligently.

  • English

English is my home language. I am very passionate about reading. I pride myself in teaching children valuable reading skills and interpreting stories through understanding and review. Literature is very important in building a child's confidence when reading. Writing is one of my passions. I absolutely love the art of writing. I teach children that their answers to questions in the English language should not simply be one word answers, but the reasoning behind their argument is what gets the best marks when writing essays or book reviews. The foundation of the English language is a solid vocabulary. Hence, I value children and their level of understanding. I work on basic spelling, and word building so that this enhances their skills and language ability.
