Hi everyone! My name is Kathryne and I am 22 years old. I am a qualified foundation phase teacher and studied through Stellenbosch University which was the most incredible place to study. I have worked at Hillcrest Pre-Primary as well as Winston Park Primary. at both of these schools, I worked under the most incredible mentor teachers and had the privilege of learning many valuable skills and things from them. I have a love for little kids and enjoy watching them grow in their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. I have 2 younger sisters that I have helped in any way I could through their schooling careers so I have all the patience in the world. I am currently doing a course on remedial teaching as I believe that there is a huge demand for this in the teaching profession in our country and I am really loving it and finding it so interesting. I have a good understanding of the fact the not everyone learns in the same way so I do try my best to ensure that I adapt my teaching to suit the individual needs to each child I work with. I look forward to meeting you and helping you (or your children) take one step closer to having a better understanding of your work and reaching your full potential! Kind Regards, Kathryne

I had the privilege of studying my dream degree through a very well known and well recognised university. The opportunities that they were able to give me and the skills that I was able to learn through this institution and through my mentor lecturers are skills that I will value forever!
I have a love for maths and all things mathematical as I do enjoy questioning things and working them out until I have the answer. Although I was never incredible strong in pure maths, I did enjoy it in high school but then I flicked through a Maths lit textbook and found that this maths seemed more practical and easier to use in everyday life. I am a very practical person and I don't like wasting time learning things that I can't use so I decided to change to maths lit in my matric year. I found the subject very interesting and useful and I use it in my everyday life which I love!

I love geography and studying the ever changing patterns that the weather follows. I love being able to look at a map or a weather chart and be able to read it accuratly to find the informtion that I am looking for. I find natural disasters very interesting and i think the geographical impact on these diseasters is very fasinating and therefore spend large amounts of my time studying these things. Geography is a very practical subject as it is one of the only subjects that you will be able to use in your every day life for the rest of your life. It is also a subject that you can learn from the envrioment around you This was my strongest subjecct in school and it has taught me to have an ever increading respect for mother nature and the world we live in.

I am a home language English speaker and have had a love for my language for many years. I spend a lot of my free time reading and enhancing my skill set in this department. I have 2 younger sisters so I am constantly helping them with their language and language development. I stay up to date with the developments in the education system around English and the material that has been placed into the syllabus. I went to an IEB school so I have a good understanding of how the English department works in this system. However, I was trained in the CAPS curriculum at university so I have a good understanding of both systems and the expectations of each. I understand that language is not everyone's strong point and therefore try to make my lessons as fun and creative as possible while still addressing the fundamental skills in each aspect of the subject.
