Hi there. To me, this is always the most dreaded part of any interview - talking about myself. First off, I have no idea what age you are, where do you come from or why you are looking for a tutor. So maybe I shall start by telling you these things about myself and then you can decide whether I will possibly be what you are looking for. I am 47 years old (ancient I know), have a 13 year old daughter and live in Cape Town, South Africa. I started working in the hospitality industry when I was 19, I have a certificate in small business management, am a certified Kinesiologist and -TEFL teacher. Experience

I have worked with people in the hospitality industry since I was 19 years old. I have travelled abroad, I have worked in rural Africa and all over South Africa in a variety of establishments. In my travels and work experience, I have come into contact with a lot of different cultures and nationalities. As I got older, I became more adapt on how to cross the bridge between cultures and make people feel at ease when I talk to them, regardless of where they are from. Training people in different aspects of the hospitality industry has very much been part of my career. Furthermore, in my studies in kinesiology and small business management, I have learned how to interview people, how to read body language and make use of different tools like characteristic analyses to better read people and adapt my lessons and attitude towards them for better results. I recently got my diploma in teaching English as a foreign language and gained further skills to apply to different methodologies in how to teach pupils. I believe that all my skills combined can be of great benefit to tutor pupils one on one.

Afrikaans
My first language is Afrikaans and I passed it with extinction in high school. In the past 30 years, Afrikaans has grown exponentially as a language and there are so many more avenues to explore. I am well familiar with the older, more traditional material and authors, but can add fun and appreciation with more modern Afrikaans. I will cater all my lessons to each pupil individually so that they can explore a deeper appreciation for the language.
